3 - The Flood

Genesis 6:5 – 7:24

Francis Darby - The Deluge
Is God angry will all of humanity?  Why does he destroy "every living thing that was on the face of the ground?"

Or is God grieving?  What is God's emotion and reaction?

What is it about Noah which made him the chosen one to carry on the remnant of life?

  1. Maybe this is not a story of destruction, but a story of regrouping. When we look around and find ourselves in a corrupt place – be it emotional, social, institutional, physical, etc. – we have God’s blessing to move on. We can bring along what is good and leave the rest behind. We might be in for some long, dark days. But maybe, sometimes, that’s what it takes to heal our broken places.
